Namibia is a southern African country bordered by Angola, Zambia, Botswana, and South Africa, with a coastline along the Atlantic Ocean. It is known for its vast deserts, including the Namib and Kalahari Deserts, as well as its diverse wildlife and national parks, such as Etosha National Park. The capital and largest city is Windhoek, which serves as the country’s political, economic, and cultural center. Namibia has a stable economy, primarily driven by mining (uranium, diamonds, and gold), tourism, agriculture, and fishing. The country is one of the least densely populated in the world, with large uninhabited areas and a semi-arid climate. Namibia gained independence from South Africa in 1990 and has since maintained a democratic government. Its culture reflects a mix of indigenous traditions and European influences, particularly German and Afrikaans heritage.
