Angola is a country in Southern Africa, bordered by Namibia to the south, Zambia to the east, the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the north, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. Its capital and largest city is Luanda, a major port and economic hub. Angola is rich in natural resources, including oil and diamonds, and has a diverse cultural heritage influenced by Portuguese colonial history. It gained independence from Portugal in 1975 and is a member of the African Union and the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
