Caribbean Netherlands refers to the three special municipalities of the Netherlands located in the Caribbean Sea: Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba. These islands became part of the Netherlands as special municipalities following the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles in 2010. The capital of Bonaire is Kralendijk, while Sint Eustatius and Saba have Oranjestad and The Bottom as their respective capitals. The islands use the US dollar (USD) as their official currency and are governed directly by the Dutch government. While they are not part of the European Union (EU), they are considered overseas territories with certain EU benefits. The economy of the Caribbean Netherlands relies on tourism, fisheries, and public administration.
