The capital and largest city is George Town, situated on Grand Cayman. The territory is known for its offshore financial services industry, tourism, and marine biodiversity, including world-renowned scuba diving sites. The Cayman Islands has a high standard of living and is considered a major financial hub due to its tax-friendly policies. While it has internal self-governance, the United Kingdom is responsible for its defense and foreign affairs. The Cayman Islands is an associate member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
