Cameroon is a Central African country bordered by Nigeria to the west, Chad to the northeast, Central African Republic to the east, Congo, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea to the south, and the Atlantic Ocean to the southwest. Its capital is Yaoundé, while its largest city and economic hub is Douala. Cameroon is known for its diverse geography, including rainforests, savannas, mountains, and coastal plains, earning it the nickname “Africa in Miniature”. The country has a multilingual population, with French and English as its official languages, reflecting its colonial history under France and Britain. Cameroon’s economy is based on agriculture, oil production, mining, and manufacturing. It is a member of the United Nations, the African Union (AU), the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), and the Commonwealth of Nations.
