The Republic of the Congo (often called Congo-Brazzaville) is a Central African country bordered by Gabon to the west, Cameroon and the Central African Republic to the north, Democratic Republic of the Congo to the east, and the Atlantic Ocean to the southwest. Its capital and largest city is Brazzaville, located along the Congo River, directly across from Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The country has vast rainforests and rich natural resources, including oil, timber, and minerals, which are key to its economy. Despite its wealth in resources, economic challenges persist due to political instability and infrastructure limitations. The Republic of the Congo is a member of the United Nations, the African Union (AU), the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), and the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC).
