Denmark is known for its high quality of life, strong welfare system, and commitment to sustainability. The country has a high-income economy, driven by technology, renewable energy, shipping, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture. It is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary democracy and is a founding member of the United Nations, NATO, the Schengen Area, and the OECD. While part of the European Union (EU), Denmark has opted out of using the euro and retains the Danish krone as its currency.
