Gabon is a Central African country bordered by Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon to the north, Congo to the east and south, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. Its capital and largest city is Libreville, located on the country’s northern coast. Gabon is known for its rainforests, diverse wildlife, and oil resources, which play a significant role in its economy. The country is one of the wealthiest in Africa in terms of per capita income, largely due to its oil and mineral exports, as well as timber and agriculture. Gabon is a presidential republic, with a long-standing political stability under the Bongo family. The country is a member of the United Nations, the African Union (AU), and the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS).
