The capital and largest city is St. Helier, located on the island’s southern coast. Jersey is known for its beautiful landscapes, which include cliffs, beaches, and green countryside, as well as its historic sites, such as castles and fortifications. The economy is based on finance, tourism, agriculture, and dairy farming, with the island famous for its Jersey cow and potatoes. While self-governing, Jersey remains under the sovereignty of the British Crown and has international relations and defense handled by the United Kingdom.
