Kyrgyzstan is a landlocked country in Central Asia, bordered by Kazakhstan to the north, China to the east, Tajikistan to the south, and Uzbekistan to the west. Its capital and largest city is Bishkek, located in the northern part of the country, near the Tien Shan Mountains. Kyrgyzstan is known for its rugged terrain, including mountain ranges, lakes, and forests, which make it a popular destination for hiking, trekking, and adventure tourism. The country has a predominantly agrarian economy, with livestock farming, cotton, and tobacco being significant contributors. Kyrgyzstan gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, and since then, it has experienced political transitions and economic challenges. The country is a presidential republic and a member of the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
