The State of Palestine is a partially recognized sovereign state in the Middle East, consisting of two main territories: the West Bank (including East Jerusalem) and the Gaza Strip. It is bordered by Israel, Jordan, and Egypt, and has no direct access to the sea in the West Bank, though Gaza has a Mediterranean coastline. The administrative capital is Ramallah, while East Jerusalem is claimed as the capital. The economy is limited by restrictions on movement, access, and resources, and relies on foreign aid, remittances, agriculture, and services. The State of Palestine is a non-member observer state at the United Nations (UN) and is a member of several international organizations, including the Arab League, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the G77. Political and territorial disputes continue to affect its sovereignty and development.
