Peru tops the global rankings for percentage of children who complete lower secondary education, recording 95.68% in 2024, followed by South Africa (92.49%) and Uruguay (88.71%). Paraguay (88%) and Kenya (86.58%) complete the top 5. Colombia (85.44%) and Nigeria (74.07%) follow close behind. Honduras (57.6%), Guatemala (56.5%), and Lesotho (55.99%) round out the top ten. The spread is substantial: Peru has 1.7× the figure recorded by Lesotho (55.99%). Four of the top ten are in South America. Among these countries, Guatemala saw the largest year-over-year change at -19.7%.
