Nigeria tops the global rankings for births by women aged 15 to 19, recording 1.1K thousands in 2026, followed by India (672.02 thousands) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (623.98 thousands). Bangladesh (535.03 thousands) and Pakistan (526.86 thousands) complete the top 5. Ethiopia (473.39 thousands) and United Republic of Tanzania (426.87 thousands) follow close behind. Mexico (316.71 thousands), Uganda (305.27 thousands), and Mozambique (304.37 thousands) round out the top ten. The spread is substantial: Nigeria has 3.5× the figure recorded by Mozambique (304.37 thousands). Six of the top ten are in Africa, with four from Eastern. Among these countries, India saw the largest year-over-year change at -7.5%.
