Peru tops the global rankings for percentage of children who complete upper secondary education, recording 92.62% in 2024, followed by Colombia (80.35%) and Paraguay (71.23%). Nigeria (68.55%) and Kenya (65.03%) complete the top 5. South Africa (62.21%) and Uruguay (55.54%) follow close behind. Honduras (40.27%), Lesotho (40.23%), and Guatemala (23.09%) round out the top ten. The spread across the top ten is substantial: Peru has 4.0× the figure recorded by Guatemala (23.09%). Four of the top ten are in South America. Among these countries, Guatemala saw the largest year-over-year change at -51.6%.
