Algeria tops the global rankings for percentage of teachers in pre-primary education who are qualified, recording 100% in 2025, followed by Kazakhstan (100%) and Nauru (100%). Thailand (100%) and Kyrgyzstan (92.04%) complete the top 5. Gambia (75.58%) and Tuvalu (75%) follow close behind. Tokelau (57.14%), Nepal (37.93%), and Indonesia (12.19%) round out the top ten. The spread is substantial: Algeria has 8.2× the figure recorded by Indonesia (12.19%). Five of the top ten are in Asia. Among these countries, Tuvalu saw the largest year-over-year change at -20.9%.
