With 557.8 million metric tons in 2024, Indonesia leads the world in coal and coke exports, followed by Australia (362.0 million metric tons) and Russia (182.0 million metric tons). The top 5 is rounded off by the United States (98.3 million metric tons) and Mongolia (74.7 million metric tons). Further down, South Africa (70.7 million metric tons) and Colombia (45.1 million metric tons) hold the next two spots. Canada (36.3 million metric tons), Kazakhstan (31.5 million metric tons), and Mozambique (16.2 million metric tons) round out the top ten. Across the top ten, Indonesia is 34× as high as Mozambique (16.2 million metric tons). Three of the top ten are in Asia. Among these countries, Mozambique saw the largest year-over-year change at +52.4%.
