Nigeria tops the global rankings for probability of dying between age 15 and 50 for females, recording 226.28 per 1,000 alive at age 15 in 2026, followed by Lesotho (206.6 per 1,000 alive at age 15) and Chad (199.67 per 1,000 alive at age 15). Central African Republic (192.83 per 1,000 alive at age 15) and Nauru (184.75 per 1,000 alive at age 15) complete the top 5. Kenya (152.98 per 1,000 alive at age 15) and South Sudan (152.95 per 1,000 alive at age 15) follow close behind. Zimbabwe (150.86 per 1,000 alive at age 15), Benin (147.64 per 1,000 alive at age 15), and Côte d'Ivoire (143.13 per 1,000 alive at age 15) round out the top ten. The spread is substantial: Nigeria has 1.6× the figure recorded by Côte d'Ivoire (143.13 per 1,000 alive at age 15). Nine of the top ten are in Africa, with three from Western. Among these countries, Lesotho saw the largest year-over-year change at -2.5%.
