China tops the global rankings for wind electricity installed capacity, recording 521.7 million kW in 2024, followed by United States of America (152.1 million kW) and Germany (72.8 million kW). India (48.2 million kW) and Brazil (33 million kW) complete the top 5. Spain (31.8 million kW) and United Kingdom (30.9 million kW) follow close behind. France (24.6 million kW), Canada (18.4 million kW), and Sweden (17.2 million kW) round out the top ten. The spread is substantial: China has 30× the figure recorded by Sweden (17.2 million kW). Five of the top ten are in Europe. Among these countries, China saw the largest year-over-year change at +18.1%.
