China leads the world in solar, tide, wave, and fuel cell electricity net generation at 839 billion kWh in 2024, followed by United States of America (303.8 billion kWh) and India (135.4 billion kWh). Japan (97.1 billion kWh) and Germany (72.4 billion kWh) close out the top 5. Next up, Brazil (68.7 billion kWh) and Spain (55.5 billion kWh). Australia (53.2 billion kWh), Italy (35.6 billion kWh), and Republic of Korea (34.1 billion kWh) round out the top ten. The gap across this list is wide — China has 25× the value of Republic of Korea (34.1 billion kWh). Four of the top ten are in Asia, with three from Eastern. Among these countries, China saw the largest year-over-year change at +43.6%.
