China leads the world in natural graphite mine production at 1.4M metric tons in 2025, followed by Madagascar (80K metric tons) and United Republic of Tanzania (75K metric tons). Brazil (65K metric tons) and Mozambique (60K metric tons) close out the top 5. Next up, Russian Federation (25K metric tons) and India (17K metric tons). Canada (8K metric tons), North Korea (8K metric tons), and Norway (6.6K metric tons) round out the top ten. The gap across this list is wide: China has 212× the value of Norway (6.6K metric tons). Three of the top ten are in Asia. Among these countries, United Republic of Tanzania saw the largest year-over-year change at +177.8%.
